In the world of electrical engineering, transformers play an important role in converting alternating current (AC) into different voltage levels. When an AC voltage is applied to the input coil (primary coil), it generates an alternating magnetic field in the iron core. This magnetic field in turn induces a voltage in the output coil (secondary coil). The ratio of the number of turns between the two coils determines the transformation ratio, i.e. the factor by which the voltage is increased or decreased.
